Chrysler Repair: 2002 Chrysler Sebring, chrysler sebring, dash panel

Question
Hi Roland,
I have an '02 Sebring Sedan that the cruise control light in the dash has stopped coming on after months of coming on sporadically. The cruise control does function normally. I have looked in the manual, but can't find anything on how to change the bulb. Any ideas on this? Would it be a bulb or a fuse? If it's the fuse which fuse would it be. I've looked for that as well, but no luck.

Thanks for your help.
Jennifer

Answer
Hi Jennifer,
I looked in my '2000 manual and couldn't find a specific light bulb on the dash panel nor a location in the circuit diagram for it. I suspect the on-off function of the indicator represents a digital signal that is carried with tens of other signals on the digital data bus which is a pair of wires. So it is either an issue with the actual bulb or the circuit board that supplies the bulb on the instrument cluster dash panel. About the only way to find out would be to remove the cluster which looks straight foraward working fromt the front glass inward and then removing the cluster and its plugs. Then you can locate the light source (based on it position) and inspect the traces on the board to see if one or the other possibility is the cause of the intermittency.
