Chrysler Repair: 97 Grand Voyager gauges not working, digital odometer, grand voyager

Question
I have a '97 Grand Voyager Rallye, 3.0. As I was driving home last night the tach, speedometer, gas, and temp. gauges all froze, and on the digital odometer only 3 of the numbers are on(last 3), plus only half of the indicators for what gear you are in are working(d, 2, and 3). All lights and everything else work. I have checked the fuses and they are all fine. Also, when I turn the van off the odometer and shift indicator are still lit up. They will not go out.

Answer
Hi Jeff,
The problem is with the system of data communication called the digital data bus. Whether it is confined to the dash or is due to a problem in the rest of the network that connects various systems together needs to be determined. I recommend a readout of the memories of that system using the plug that is under the dash and a fault code reader. An Autozone parts store may do that for free, or an independent shop for around $40. Ask for the specific code numbers, what their names are, what they recommend and how much to repair. Then I can compare what you learn to the manual that I have for that system.
Is it possible that some rain of wash water may have leaked in around the windshield on the left lower corner? That is where the brain for the system is located, under the dash and water there can cause temporary gremlins.
