Chrysler Repair: 1998 Grand Voyager hesitates on acceleration, grand voyager, independent shop

Question
My 98 Grand Voyager hesitates and sputters during acceleation.  I recently turned on the AC and the engine started running rough and later overheated.  I changed my spark plugs and wires about 50000 mi ago. If it is the spark plugs? would this cause overheating?

Answer
Hi Tom,
Probably it is not the spark plugs alone that would cause hesitation and rough running, and overheating. My suggestion would be to get a free (Autozone parts store) or lower cost (independent shop) readout of the engine controller memory to s find out what are the fault codes that might be stored in its memory. Ask for the 4-digit fault code numbers, what they mean, what they suggest to do, and the estimated cost. Then write back and fill me in on what you learned. Also tell be which size engine is in there. (2.4,3.0,3.3, or 3.8L)?
