Answer
Hi Richard,
I just read your question. I don't have a '96 manual, rather the '98 which I believe applies to your vehicle. On the washer, I believe the pump for the rear and the pump for the front are both located in the base of the washer fluid bottle. And they are both powered by the same fuse. So listen for the sound of the rear pump when you have a helper try to use it. If it doesn't sound, then I would verify that the dark blue wires to both of the pump motors have 12V on them when the key is in the run position. If so, then I would try a direct jump of 12V across the pins of the rear motor to see if it is working. If not, then replace the motor. If it does, then the black/white wire from the plug to the body computer is possibly "open" or the switch itself is not working. That requires some further testing which I can tell you about.
On the bulb, I would get a new bulb socket at a dealer and replace the present one. These are pretty fragile items that are subject to wearout.
