Question

Roland:
I have a Town & Country van that stalls when coming to a stop or turning.  I have followed the EGR trail.  nothing.  No codes. No warning.  What's next?
Thanks,
M.

Answer
Hi Marshall,
Most of the obvious causes are monitored to some extent and should produce a code. It may be that the threshold malfunction parameter has not been met yet, so I would keep checking for fault codes, particularly if you can do that for free (e.g. at Autozone or with your own readout).
You might do well to check the PCV valve for being stuck; might as well replace it if it is old (say 60K mikes); and take a look at the air cleaner (which should be replaced at 30K). If you can notice any particular situation where the stalls seem to occur more likely, that may also provide a clue.
It could be a mixture issue or a spark issue. How about the spark plugs: are they pushing close to 100K miles?
Cleaning the throat of the throttle body and both sides of the throttle butterfly plate as well as the small air passageway for the idle air control by-pass channel is another good bet for idle problems. Those are a few things to do next.
Best of luck with this. I think you will resolve it if you check those out. Let me know, please, if you find a particular servicing that made the difference.
