Chrysler Repair: Accessory belt tensioner, how to release?:LHS 99, releasing the tension, belt tensioner

Question
Trying to change a belt but i'm having trouble releasing the tension adjuster? any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Wayne,
I wish you had said which engine and which belt you are dealing with. If the tensioner looks like a simple pulley on an axle or shaft, and you can see the adjuster bolt behind the pulley, then you merely loosen the bolt on the end of the pulley shaft to allow the shaft to be moved back or forth by means of the adjuster bolt. If that isn't what your set up is then write me a follow-up at the top of the hour and tell me what engine and belt it is that you are doing.
