Chrysler Repair: Air conditioner problem: temp control not working, 03 van, air streams, xerox copy

Question
The air conditioner on my 2003 town and country van blows cold on passenger side warm on drivers side

Answer
Hi Bill,
If your control for the AC includes separate settings for each side then probably the door that blends the hot and cold coils' air for the driver side is not functioning properly. That blend door achieves the desired temperature by mixing the two air streams in the appropriate ratio to get the temp you ask for. It has an electrical actuator that moves the door from side to side. The latest manual I have is for '98 but I can xerox a couple of pages that shows where the actuator is located. You could remove it and check to make sure that the door is just mechanically stuck and it moves freely then changing the actuator might fix the problem. Let me know a postal mailing address and I will xerox copy and postal mail them to you.
