Chrysler Repair: 98 T&C LXI AWD, code 1695, vts system, e bay

Question
Roland my 98 van will start and then stop after about 3 sec. While this is happening I notice the ABS light stays on. I did some reading on your sight about the VTS system. It threw a code 1695. My question is does that code mean the Body control computer is faulty or will VTS system make BCM throw that code out. Of course the dealer WILL NOT help. They want an awful lot of money to fix, but a found a guy on e-bay that will program a rebuilt BCM with your vin for $250.00 with a year warranty as long as you send him the bad one back in this case the original. Pls help. Tks Jim

Answer
Hi Jim,
I have the body diagnostic procedures manual for the '98 vans. That code has about 12 pages of step by step tests. I can xerox and postal mail it to you. It would cost me about five-41 cent stamps to do that. If you would like to receive them use the "thank and rate" tab where you can enter a postal mailing address. If you will be so kind as to reimburse me to the return address shown on the envelope I would be most appreciative.
It does sound like the VTS is in the alarmed state. So do try to lock/unlock either front door or the tail gate to see if that "clears" the problem. But it very well is actually the bcm communication being lacking that is the cause, which the pages may resolve.
