How would I know if my crank kit needs to be replaced on a 2001 Chrysler LHS 3.5L?

Hi Scottie,
I have no knowledge of the term "crank kit". Do you know another name for it? Maybe you mean the crank position sensor? If so, then that could be evaluated by getting a fault code readout at an Autozone parts store (for free usually) or at a shop that might do it on a special for $40. The fault code for the crank sensor is 0320 and for the cam sensor is 0340.
