Chrysler Repair: 99 Chrysler 300M passenger side mirror, mirror question, side mirror

Question
QUESTION: Mirror was torn off when I backed out of garage.  I can duct tape it on.  Positioning still works.  Mirror is hanging from cable but completely cracked off from mount.  It looks like its bolted to mount inside stereo speaker inside car in corner of passenger side window.  I've seen the part on e-bay.  Is it as easy as it looks to replace?
ANSWER: Hi Brad,
I can't say for sure but the fact that the '98 shop manual doesn't make a big thing of it makes me believe it is as easy as it looks.  But if you have to remove the interior trim panel let me tell you the steps for that and/or xerox and send the page about that procedure so you don't do any damage.

QUESTION: The problem I can see is re-connecting the cable for the electrical part of the mirror to move it up and down.  I can't tell until I actually take the mirror off.  I can't tell if the cable will disconnect easily and then re-connect to the new mirror.  So... you don't have any information on this procedure other than removing the interior trim?

Answer
Hi Brad,
The manual doesn't go into any detail about replacing the mirror. However the wiring diagram shows that the mirror has a 10-pin plug at the mirror proper so it should be no problem such as getting inside the door to rewire a new one in place if instead it came with a hard wired pigtail, for example.
