Land Rover Repair: Service Engine Light, land rover discovery, petrol engine

1995 Land Rover Discovery petrol engine.  How do I resetn/turn off the 'service engine light'.  I called LR dealer and they advised to pull the right floor panel and the push and hold the button for 5 seconds.  I can not find a button.

Hi Robin,

I'm not sure which magic button the dealer mentioned to you about resetting the SERVICE ENGINE light.  Here's a website that has a better explanation:

goto the TECH section;  search the left column for RESET SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT and follow the instructions.  It's pretty easy... so wonder why the dealer gave you that advice?
