-----Question-----
my heating sys. doesn't put out any heat. it seems to be in the temp. nob or in the heating valves in the duct works. is there any way to unstick these valves?
-----Answer-----
Hi Richard,
So you have a 2000 Concorde. I have an earlier manual ('94) that shows the blend air door and the electric motor that controls it. Also, there is a self-diagnostic test you can do to see if that is indeed the problem. The motor for the door is on the bottom of the HVAC unit so you can get to it if you have to.
Let me know if you want this info and I'll xerox and postal mail it to you give me an address to mail it to.

Hi Richard,
Yes there is but you didn't tell me which year and model we are dealing with. It would be good to check that the two hoses that go to and come from the heater core, passing through the fire wall in the engine compartment. They should be similar in temperature. If not then the problem is that the coolant isn't going thruough the core. The other possibility is the blend air door is not moving in response to the temp nob. But again I can't tell you anything specific without knowing the year and model. So write back with that information, please
Roland

Answer
OK I'll copy and get this in the mail to you asap. I hope that it will help you figure out the cause. If you have good flow through the core (both hoses are hot) the it pretty much means that the blend door is out of position and is sending air mainly over the A/C evaporator core rather than the heater core. The actuator could be inoperative or the door itself may be stuck. But try the self-diagnostic tests.
