Question
I have been getting moaning noises from the engine of my chrysler voyager le 1999 only when i turn on the heater, just lately i am now getting a squealing noise from the engine, obviously a belt of some sort, this only happens when the heater is turned on too. As my power window switch isn't working properly either and the winter is setting in I will need to demist my windows so need pointing in the right direction as i know nothing about cars.

Answer
It sounds like your compressor may siezing up.Even though you aren't using your air. When you use defrost the compressor comes on to remove moisture from the air.It is a common problem.Don't be surprised if you need to replace the belt and belt tensioner as well.If you want to do without, there is a plug on top of the compressor that is easy to get to.Just slide the red tang over on the connector and then squeeze and pull.Or you could look in the fuse box under the hood for the ac fuse.
