Answer
Hi Fred,
That code makes sense. It says the automatic idle motor circuit is faulty, or the motor itself is bad, or it might even be dirt on the pintel or orifice into which it fits, or the by-pass air passageway. You will find the AIS motor mounted on the throttle body outside surface near the intake throat. It has a four pin plug (wire colors below). You can check whether there is continuity between the two inside pins and between the two outside pins on AIS motor side of the connector, using an ohmmeter. Then you can also look over the wiring to the plug side of the connector for signs of damage, and find whether the wires are continuous to pins 39 (gray/red), 40 (brown/white), 59 (violet/black) and 60 (yellow/black) of the engine controller. Finally remove the AIS motor and clean its tip and passageway, and also clean the air-bypass channel in the throat of the body which is controlled by the AIS.
Somewhere in that set of steps you will find the cause and correct it.
