Chrysler Repair: 1997 Chrysler Sebring wont start, chrysler sebring, wire pairs

Question
I checked all the ccd wiring, had 2.49 on the + and 2.51 on the -, which I'm told is correct, now the scanner will read all the computers, except the ECM, found a short in the Map sensor 5v power supply feed, disconnected the Map, short went away, but the ECM isn't providing 5v anymore, I have no MIL light, power is going to the ECM I'm getting 12V on the feed pins (per wiring diagram) is there a way to reset the ECM?  or should I just consider it dead and replace it?

-----Question-----
I have a 1997 Chrysler Sebring, it has no spark, I was told the distributors are a common failing on this car, so I got a rebuilt one, and put it in, still no spark, I tried hooking up a scanner to the car, but it won't communicate, on all the computers, when it tries to read, it says "testing ccd"  then "Bus inactive" and wants me to check for key on, hooked up, etc, what's the ccd bus, and where do I find it, is it replaceable?   Thanks
-----Answer-----
Hi Randy,
The ccd bus is a network of twisted wire pairs (white/black and violet/brown) that connects several modules that both create and require data to be shared between themselves for proper function. Typically, when the communication breaks down the first thing to do is to try disconnecting the modules from the bus and see if the scanner now communicates with it, which would be an indication that the module that was disconnected is at fault.
You should have the key in the "run" position. Then, one at a time disconnect the transmission controller and observe for a change at the scanner. If none, then replace the transcontroller plug and disconnect in turn: powertrain controller, anti-lock brake controller, message center/traveller, instrument cluster, compass/trip computer, then wait for two minutes then disconnect the air bag module, and finally the body control module. If any of those modules frees up the system, then that module is bad and should be replaced. Before replacing a suspect item, check that the twisted pair of wires at its plug appear to be in good condition and connected to other plugs in the network.
Let me know what you find out, please.

Answer
Hi Randy,
Very good troubleshooting. If disconnecting the 12V supply to the vehicle for maybe 10 minutes and then reconnecting doesn't get you a 5V supply back, then that would be a good sign that it has been damaged. I can't suggest anything beyond that to do before replacing the ecm.
