Chrysler Repair: 94 Ch New yorker 3.5 auto limp-in: wiring check?, postal mail, pressure switches

Question
Trans in safe mode. Indication is wiring or module.

Replaced one switch 1 yr ago. same symptoms. repaired ok.

now same issue but indicates wiring or?

How can I ck.

Answer
Hi Tim,
The engine codes are 21 which suggests an oxygen sensor has stopped functioning (probably the upstream) and 34 which suggests a problem with the cruise control. Those don't relate to the pressure switch issues shown on the trans controller so I'd focus on the trans to get it out of limp in. The OD and 2/4 pressure switches (codes 21 and 22) are in the solenoid box so ideally you won't have to r&r the trans but rather check their wiring and if that doesn't yield a fault deal with the pressure switches in that box. I have a manual that describes how to check the circuitry for those pressure switches in "tree" sort of protocal. It runs around 12 sides on paper, and I could xerox copy and postal mail those to you if you will give me an address to which to send them. Then I can send you the procedures for gaining access and checking the switches themselves if the electrical proves out.
Thanks for the rating and nomination.
I'll await your response.

Hi Tim,
To give you help in repairing the situation I need to know what the fault code number and description is. So please write back with that information. I have the wiring diagrams and some of the powertrain manuals that would likely help you focus your troubleshooting efforts.

P.S. If I am 'maxed out' use the "thank and rate" tab to communicate in the 'comments' section; I get an email alerting me to your response and so I can reply that way.
Also do you recall which switch you replaced the last time?
