Chrysler Repair: Fuel pump problems, old tank, demolition derby

Question
Roland, I was hoping that you could help me out on a problem that I have on a 88 pymouth voyager. The van is being tore down to be run in a demolition derby and I have to drop the old gas tank. I have run the new fuel lines and fuel pump and they work good, but I went to drop the old tank and cut the electircal lines to the old pump and now I cant get any spark from the plug wires. I believe that I've screwed up the computer in the van, and I was wonder if there is a way to get spark back to the enigne. I got a new ignition fuse and hooked up the wires I cut to see if I could get the old pump to run and get spark yet it did not work. Please tell me there is a way to by-pass the fuel pump wires and get spark back to the engine.
Sincerely
Adam Roeder

Answer
Hi Adam,
Sorry to possibly be repetitive, I am not sure my second message was sent. Basically I checked the '89 wiring diagrams and the red wire at the ASD that you jumped to from the battery is normally hot all the time anyway, so there is no safey issue with that. It probably means that a white fusible link in the fusible link harness behind the battery is blown. You can pull gently on the ends of any fusible link and if it separates that means it is blown.
