Chrysler Repair: no spark, spark coil, power control module

Question
how do i trouble shoot this problem

Answer
Hi Greg,
I have agreed to give advice on vehicles ranging from '83-99 and can sometimes go beyond that a bit, but I can't give you a flat answer that applies to all the vehicles over that time frame. So please tell me the year, engine and model.
In general, if you can identify the 12V supply wire to the spark coil then measure whether you get voltage for a full 5 seconds of cranking, 1-2 seconds only, or not at all. If for the full 5 then it is probably the coil, if for 1-2 of the 5 second crank only then it is probably the spark timing sensor, and if not at all then it would be the ASD relay or the power control module. But those are generalities. You can also get the trouble codes by using the ignition key. Look back at any question in the "previously ansered questions" archive to find one that has a title such as 'no spark' or 'won't start' where I tell how to do that readout.
I'll await your follow up giving me more info about your car and any fault codes you get, if you would like further help.
