Chrysler Repair: electrical wiring in the steering column, dash lights, steering column

Question
promble is that the car cut-off while you are driving the car and it will do the same in park

Answer
Hi Larry,
Are you saying that the engine shuts down and all the gauges and dash warning lights go off just as if you had turned off the ignition switch? If so, can you cause it to do that by jiggling the ignition key? or is there anything else that seems to cause this to happen? If there doesn't seem to be an explanation, then we have to know how the wiring is handled to and inside the steering column, and for that I need to know the year and model of car that your are having this problem with. Let me know too if it is just the engine that dies, but the dash lights and gauges still work. So send me a followup telling me all that information.
In the meantime, I would suggest that you look under the steering column to see if any of the electrical couplers appear to be ajar/loosely connected so that the circuit might spontaneously separate and kill the motor and the dash.
