Chrysler Repair: Power Brake motor running, brake warning light, xerox copier

Question
I just read your possting to Cy yesterday about his 93 T/C brake motor running. As luck (bad) would have it my 93 T/C is doing the same thing. When I can get it started (Ithink the starter is going on it also) the brake light will stay on  for a few minutes and there is almost no pressure to allow the brakes to work properly. After the pressure builds up there doesnt seem to be a problem. Does this sound like the relay or the 'dual function pressure switch' ?

Answer
Hi Chris,
The brake warning light being on means that the pressure in the system may be too low, which is sensed by the dual function switch. But why it is loosing pressure, which the performance of the system seems to corroborate, is an unknown. There may be an internal leak in the hydraulic system that is causing the loss of pressure when the van sits. I don't believe the switch or the relay or the pump operates when the ignition is off, so those would not likely explain the low pressure when you start the van up. There is a pressure measuring test tool that can be inserted in the fluid circuit, but this sort of an issue sounds to me like a bit more than a task for a do it yourselfer.
My shop manual is fairly specific about the ABS but there is more information about the system in diagnostic shop manuals specific for the ABS unit, which I don't have. The pages for the ABS in my manual number about 46, and I could copy these on 23 sides of 11x17 paper via a xerox copier at a cost of about $2.60 and then maybe another 1.29 for postage. If you would like those pages let me know and I'll send them to you if you give me a postal mailing address. You can reimburse me for the cost after you receive it.
It may be enough info for you to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it.
