Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Cirrus 1999 Output sensor, weather seal, chrysler cirrus

Question
I have the exact same problem with my ouput sensor as your answer to Sophia? I have ordered the sensor, but could not really find the specifics on replacing it in Haynes? Is it possible that there are two output censors for The 6 Cylinder version of the car?

Thanks,

Answer
There is only one output sensor, and one input sensor. The output sensor is to right (looking at the side of the trans that faces the front of the car, while standing in front of the car) of the shift lever, virtually at the rear of the trans on that side of it. I believe you only need to unplug it and unscrew it from the housing, then screw in the new one. There is a weather seal on the old sensor and you will want to make sure that it gets transfered over to the new one.
