how do your over ride the low side pressure switch so that you can add refrigerant?

Hi Bmeyermo,
Start the process by warming up the engine.
All you have to do is go to the pressure switch and remove the electrical plug to it. Then take a piece of electrical wire and jump it between the two contacts in the plug, which fools the pressure switch logic in the engine controller into thinking that there is sufficient pressure to operate the compressor. But be ready with the can of refrigerant and the filler hose attached to both the can and the low pressure side filling valve so as to be ready to puncture the can and add the refrigerant quickly and thus don't run the compressor unnecessarily long with low refrigerant level in the system.
