Chrysler Repair: 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan SE sport rear a/c, dodge grand caravan, air distribution system

Question
In my caravan, my a/c works wonderful in the front but only blows hot though the rears. This started about a year and a half ago.  We had some body work done by a body shop on the passenger sliding door, and that work was well done, but the a/c in the rear hasn't worked since. What do we need to do to fix this?

If you can't answer this, can you refer me to someone who can?

Thanks,

Mrs. Keith

Answer
Hello Gennale,
I just received a manual for the '93 Jeep which shows how the rear heater/AC unit works. Let me know if you still haven't solved the problem and I'll look into more closely.

Hello Gennale,
Unfortunately I have not ever looked over the air distribution system of the Chrysler van models. It is possibly a simple issue with an air deverter door not closing/opening as it is supposed to but I am just guessing. You might try asking the other Chrysler "expert", Pete Lacey, the question. He is self-limited to 1 question/day on Chrysler products because he also answers questions on GM cars. But you will be able to be his one and only question on a given day if you try the allexpert site shortly after midnight east coast time, or in any case early in the day because midnight is when the 24 hour clock begins for the one question limit.
I wish I could be of help but other than going to my local library which has a good collection of auto repair manuals I just don't have any materials on the vans. Let me know if Pete can't help you and I will indeed go to the library and get the answer from a Chrysler/Dodge van shop manual.
