Chrysler Repair: 86 LeBaron Oil Pan Removal, east coast time, snail mail

Question
Hit a bumb and put a big crack in the oil pan near the drain plug. How do I remove the entire pan? I have removed all the blosts, but it wont come off. It will slide left to right, is there something I missed?

Answer
Hi Joe,
While I haven't had to pull the pan on my '89 2.5L engine (which may be identical to yours if it is that or a 2.2L) as I look at the factory shop manual I don't see any mention of anything other than the bolts to remove. There are side seals and end seals that are put on with RTV sealant so that sealant may be giving you the problem of removal. Do you have the instruction for re-applying the RTV? If not that would be good to know. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner to send you the page by email. I'd have to xerox snd snail mail it to you. I just thought, maybe you have the 2.6L Mitsubishi, but then I looked at the '85 factory shop manual I have and it too doesn't describe anything that would keep you from droping the pan. (But I think '85 may be the last year of that engine?).
I wish I had a simple answer, but I don't find any reason it should not come off.
You might try asking Pete Lacey, (but he is self-limited to one question per day, so ask him just after midnight east coast time and you will get throught to him).
