Chrysler Repair: car wont start, neutral safety switch, car wont start

Question
car ran fine then just went dead, battery is good and starter good

Answer
Hi Mike,
When you respond, if you do so, please mention the engine and year of car, and model so I can be more specific. In general, if you know the starter and the battery are good,
then the other components are: ignition switch, starter relay, transmission neutral safety switch, and the wires that connect the whole system together. You might try verifying that the safety switch is not out of adjustment: try shifting the gear selector slightly from its resting position in neutral (or Park if you have an auto trans) while trying the start position of the key switch. If that doesn't cause the starter to respond, then open the hood and have a helper try to start the car and see if you hear a soft click from a small box that is the relay for the starter motor. Then tell me about what you find.
