Chrysler Repair: 1999 Chrysler 300M, chrysler 300m, jeff hildebrand

Question
I know it is past the 1995 MY, next Gen. LH, but maybe you can help or direct my question.  I have a nightmare of a 1999 300M.  At about 50k miles eng and trans replaced, add'l maint. of about 10k+ since inc. various moters, 3 batteries, 2 alternators, etc.. + what was covered under warranty.

A persistant/intermitant electrical problem causing all vehicle systems to shut down and be reset before starting has bothered me since 3-5 months of ownership.  Dealer complaints each visit, but no inherent problem found and condition never able to be duplicated.  Beyond lemon before enough dealer service dept. time logged.

Finished about 5k of above over summer.  Now vehicle completely stopped running on 6 lane street and all electrical systems shut-down and reset after turning car off, in Road and restarting.  Any help/direction to turn?

Car is in my driveway.

Answer
Hi Jeff,
What a tale of woe, I feel empathy for you.
I have respect for the Chrysler electrical engineering and execution so I believe there will be a solution. My main difficulty is not having a specific wiring diagram for your car. But maybe we can make a start based on their approach to electrical design that I do have diagrams for. I can go to the library and find a manual if necessary.
When you say all vehicle systems, do you mean absolutely everything, including those items that are run by the battery with no ignition switch involvement to make them work, such as the hazard flasher system? Specifically when this happens is the entire car dead electrically, or if not what still works? What typically must be done for the car to revive?
When you say the systems must "be reset before starting" do you mean someone must do something to reset them, or do they reset themselves, and if so what has to be done or how do you know that a spontaneous "reset" has occured?
Let me know the answers to these questions and we'll go from there.
