Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1950 pontiac, electric fuel pump, electric pumps

Question
it has an electric fuel pump and after about 5 mins of running you start to see bubbles in the fuel filter and it runs out of gas. I thought vapor lock and took the cap off with no success. Help!

Answer
A question or two so that I can get you a better answer. Is the car stock except for the fuel pump? Where on the car is the fuel pump mounted? Electric pumps need to be as close to the fuel tank as possible and as low on the chassis as you can get it. Ideally the pump should be slightly below the fuel level. Electric pumps are not puller but pushers.Let me know and we will go from there.
