QUESTION: Cable twisted off, sent for and replaced same.  Now only the odometer works.  Something I'm missing?  Appreciate a quick response.  Thanks

ANSWER: If the odometer is working then the problem is in the speedometer head.

QUESTION: The speedometer head is good.  Any further suggestions?

Answer
If the odometer is working it shows that the rotational motion of the speedometer cable is getting into the speedo head and turning the gears, at least the one train that drives the odometer. It is possible that the train that drives the drum for the speedo needle is stripped out or that the speedo needle is stuck in it's bushings. If the original cable was twisted off near the top that tells me that there is a problem in the speedometer head.If it was twisted off near the bottom then the first thing that you look for is a kink in the outer cable or a dry cable in need of lubrication. By the way chassis grease is what I use to lubricate the cable. Let me know what you find. Brad
