ANSWER: I need a bit more information to help. What model year is the engine? Are you going from a standard to automatic or an automatic to a standard? Is the transmission that you gave me the number for a standard or automatic? The number that you gave me is a casting number for the transmission case and I can tell you that it is for a 1966 Ford product car. C6 tells me that the part was first used in the 1966 model year but could have been used in cars after that date. Let me know and we will go from there.

QUESTION: Hi thanks for geting back to me. The engine is early70s the casting #on the block is d4a 5-60 15 thats what i could read, its an automatic tranny, there was a automatic 3speed in it originally trying to match parts up lol.thanks dan

Answer
Ok, so now we know that the engine is at least a 1974 and was used in a full sized Ford sedan. The transmission should have a metal tag attached to one of the bolts somewhere on the transmission with a number on it. This is the number that will tell us what the transmission is and it could be any one of 4 different types used in those years. Let me know.
