Classic/Antique Car Repair: MGB 1968 clutch, clutch disk, clutch installation

Question
I've had a new clutch put in but it still slips. Could there be a problem with the flywheel and would you know the specifications for the flywheel. Thanks Jacques Lajoie

Answer
Hi Jacques,
MGB flywheels are flat so there are no specifications to be concerned with. When you say you had a new clutch installed, what was installed? Clutch disk, pressure plate and release bearing?
If all were installed you need to check to see that just after someone pumps up the clutch pedal and releases the pedal that the clutch arm at the bell housing has a little free play instantly. If not, either the master cylinder and /or the slave cylinder has a problem. If it is free, then the clutch installation job is at fault.
I hope this helps.
