Question
i just bought the car and soft top is operated manually,is this possible,or somebody removed parts? when u look inside ,at the rear of  frame looks like something is missing( ie brackets).also,on the dash there is a switch for soft top

Answer
Dani,

You're missing two hydraulic rams, their brackets, and possibly the hydraulic pump, hoses, wiring, and limit switches. All of these parts are located on or near the sides and rear of the top frame assembly.

You'll need to find a parts or service manual to see exactly what these parts look like. If you were in the USA, you could find these parts at a breaking yard/recycler, as they are plentiful and were used across the GM line back then. In Eire, this could be tougher. I'd hunt through the pages of Hemmings Motor News online or in print, to locate the books and the parts. To find out what other cars the parts were used on, a Hollander Interchange Manual is indispensible, too.

These parts are expensive, so be forewarned!
