Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1967 Camaro (327), 1967 chevy camaro, chevy camaro

Question
I have a 1967 Chevy Camaro with a 327.  The manual fuel pump broke and I replaced it with an electric one for a short-term fix. It ran just fine for a little over a month before it started stalling when I wasn't pressing my foot down on the accelerator (including as soon as I turned the car on).

The fuel pump and hoses have been tested and work fine.  I think there may a problem with the carburetor.  It has a 4-barrel Quadrajet.  However, I don't know much at all about carburetors.

Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Yes, I have two suggestions:

1.  Do not spend money buying parts or having things rebuilt without first getting a good diagnosis of what is wrong - that will only result in frustration and waste of your money.

2.  Call around to shops that advertise that they do "tune-up" on cars, and talk to them about what you have.  Ask if they have an engine analyzer and experience with older cars with carburetors.  If they do, bring the car into them and get them to diagnose the problem.

I could type all day and list every possible cause for this that I can think of, and I'd still probably miss the right one - so it's not a sensible thing for me to do - the car has to be seen by someone who has the experience, tools and instruments to find out what is happening.

Sorry not to be more help.
