Classic/Antique Car Repair: Sending unit, gasket leaks, 67 chevelle

Do I have to drop the gas tank to install a sending unit on a 67 chevelle? and am not really a mech. so do you think its something I can do? Can you walk me thru it

The job is a lot of work, but it's not really brain surgery.
MAKE SURE you have emptied All the gas you can before dropping the tank. Liquid is heavy and hard to control.

Also, it is VERY important that you reseal the gasket when you put it back togather. Gas fumes will not stop if the gasket leaks.

Other than those thoughts, it is fairly straight forward.
