Classic/Antique Car Repair: 62 Studebaker steering box, studebaker driver, sdc publications

Question
I would like to know where I could find a rebuild kit or a rebuilt unit for my GT Hawk.
Also are the parts available, if no kit or rebuilts are found

Thanks

Joe

Answer
If you are a member of the Studebaker Driver's Club (and if you aren't, you should be!), you will see many ads in the publications from folks offering parts for those cars.  SASCO is probably the best known and has a very good stock of parts for the cars. I don't know for sure that they will have what you need, but start there and follow the leads in the SDC publications. It is by far the BEST club in the hobby.

The 62 Hawk steering box was not a good design, most of them are in trouble by now - so you are not alone.  I'm sure someone has come up with a fix for them.
