Classic/Antique Car Repair: olds 350 rocket, cubic inch engines, firing order

Question
would you happen to know what the firing order and first cylinder is for a olds 350 rocket motor from what i can see only the carb and air filter has been altered

Answer
I would like to know if the distributor is in the front of the engine or the rear. What year is the engine? But basically all the 350 cubic inch engines used on Olds car ran a firing order of 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. GM ran numbering of 1-3-5-7 on the left (drivers) side of the engine and 2-4-6-8 on the right (passengers) side of the engine. You can almost always pick out number one on any V-8 by looking down at the front of the engine. The side of the engine with the valve cover more forward than the other is the side with number one. Good luck.
