Question
I have a 1965 corvair. The oil breather vent must be sludged up. I have oil coming back up the dipstick tube. do i have to remove the top of the shroud and carbs, ect,to fix this problem.is there another solution.

Answer
John, a corvair, still on the road and running- pretty good.
first thing add a can of engine  cleaner to the oil, it must be the type you add to the oil. read the can. do as it tells you can you remove the round screen under the motor and clean it real good and replace the gasket, than change the oil with some 30 wt and a can of STP.  clean all of the air breathers in gas, real good. and check the carb. hoses if you have any vent lines replace or clean them. change your spark plugs and adj. the carb. if you can,.
