Classic/Antique Car Repair: Print, 1957 ford thunderbird, automotive trivia

Question
Do you know who designed the 1957 Ford Thunderbird? I have a signed and numbered print 143 out of 1000 made. The paperwork to the print got thrown away by accident. My mom told me years ago that the guy who designed the car did the print and I can't find any evidence to that. Thanks, Janet

Answer
Hi Janet,
I am a British car tech but do look into automotive trivia and have found some info on the 57 "T" Bird which is lumped in with the 55 to 57 design.

According to "Wikipedia"
The idea of the 55 to 57 Thunderbird came from Lewis D Crusoe and George Walker while in Paris France. They called Frank Hershey in Dearborn about the idea. Crusoe seen a painted clay model on May 18, 1953. Crusoe gave the "Go Ahead" in Sept. after comparing it with European trends.

I could not find out if Frank Hershey got the credit for the design or if a designer under Hershey actually did the design. Or a team did the design.

You might try to contact Ford at Dearborn to get an official statement as to who is credited with the design.
