Classic/Antique Car Repair: Keyless Entry, keyless entry system, classic american car

Question
I have a Toyota Corolla CE 2001 model. It is very basic model. It does not have ABS, power windows, power locks, no keyless entry system.

My question:
Can i install keyless entry system in my car?
If yes, how?

Answer
Wow!  This is a Classic American Car?  I think you got the wrong guy here, but I do happen to know something about this issue:

We have a 1999 Toyota, and my wife wanted to add Keyless entry to it.  We went to the dealer and paid the man to put it on, it cost about $400.   I looked into putting it on myself, as I am an electronics engineer by training, and an experienced mechanic. I got the electrical manual for the car, and I quickly gave up on the idea of doing it myself - the modern car is so complex that I knew I would get myself in big trouble by doing it myself.

It probably would have been about half the cost if I had gone to a non-dealer auto electronics/audio place, as they do it all the time, but I wanted the standard Toyota unit.
