Classic/Antique Car Repair: Flathead rough runner, timeing, condensor

Question
I have a 50 plymouth, straight 6. Replace all gaskets on good running engine. New points, plugs, cap, condensor, wires, rebuild out of car. I now have 2 problems. I have an extremely rough running engine at anything over 2,000 rpm, all gears. Also, I am now getting oil out the oil fill tube. I am thinking new coil, rebuild carb (1 barrel). Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Bruce; Hi  well I would first check the timeing , and if the dist. was taken out I would re check to see if it is in right. also the plug wires -check to see if all are on the right plugs and on cap. check the points and cond. also  is the cap cracked ?  as far as the carb. check the rest first , you do not wish to have more trouble. did you replace the oil pump ? you might wish to go for a coil if the one now is old.
let me know...
OK
