Question
I have an 1969 AMC AMX and I was wondering if you knew anyone who made floors for them. And the rear end is crooked and I have no clue howw it happened, I raced the car once and It was fine and I took it for a drive and I tried to do a burn out and something popped out of place, I dont know if you kow what an AMX is because everyone mistakes it a a Javelin

Answer
I certainly know what an AMX is - I drove one when they were new, and I also drove Dick Teague's personal AMX-3 (the red one - he was my neighbor and I helped him maintain it before he died).

Since I live in the dry high desert of Southern CA, I don't have any contact with rust repair folks - and as I say in my bio - I am not a body and paint guy. I can fix 'em but when it comes to rust repair, I'm not a good source.

There is an outfit called "Classic Enterprises" that makes floors and other repair panels for many brands of cars, but the AMX is so rare, I rather doubt they have any patterns for it.  They do have them for Avanti and Studebaker models, though, so give them a call at 715-537-5422.  They might be interested in taking on another rare car.

As for your broken rear end mount, you are going to have to take it to a competent "frame shop" (ask your local auto body place where they send the really bad wrecks for frame straightening)- they will have the dimensions and the welding ability to fix whatever let go on you.

Good luck with it - it is well worth saving.
