Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1959 Chevy Biscayne, 1959 chevy biscayne, wd 40

Question
My dad has a 1959 Chevy Biscayne that was his grandfathers. The problem is the car has been sitting since 1989. I checked and it does have oil and antifreeze tests good. My question is what should I do before starting it? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
Kevin;
 Hi- well I would first change the oil and filter  and the gas tank might be  spoiled with water, etc. so I would siphon out he old gas and put in some new gas with some dry gas,than I would open the fuel line and blow it clean , replace the gas filter  than check the plugs ,and while each plug is out squirt a bit of wd-40 in each cyld. than put the plugs back. than put a few drops of gas in the carb. and let it sit for a min. than try to start it. if it starts up , let it run for a while , than I would check the belts and hoses , etc.   ok
