Classic/Antique Car Repair: Couple of miscellaneous questions..., cap systems, ebay

Question
Mr. Warrington:
I've got a 1979 El Camino...pretty good condition, but needs a little cosmetic work here and there.
In checking eBay for various parts, etc., I've come across a couple of things I'd like to ask a question about:

1.  What is an air conditioning "delete system"?  Is that some way to rig up a car or its engine WITHOUT air conditioning?

2.  I see lots of advertisements for "dash cap" systems.  They mention that the dash cap is "easily installed over cracked or fading dashboards".  Does this mean that the "dash cap" is basically a covering that fits OVER the current dashboard?  (As opposed to you having to take the current dashboard out and then install the "new" one?)

Not real critical questions, but just wondered.  Hope you don't mind my asking you.
Warm regards,
David Gardner

HI Dave,
A El-Camino good for you, well if you are going to re-do the car I will tell you where to look for items and kits that will help you with all of your ins and outs, etc.
