Classic/Antique Car Repair: Need advice on Restarting an MGTD engine, mike goodman, carburation system

Question
We have a 1953 MG TD. Our Mechanic (MG) Mike Goodman has retired, so we are taking the project on ourselves. It has not been started in 3 yrs. It appears that the Gas tank needs to be cleaned first, in order to avoid problems in the carburation system. We want to enjoy our car, so we have decided to learn how to maintain and repair our MG. We would apreciate it if we could contact you and ask you questions as they arise for us. We are excited to start our Journey of Re-starting our MG.If you would like, we could e-mail you a picture of Our MG. We love it.

Answer
Hi Guillermo,

I will be glad to help, It has been a long time since I worked on TDs but I will try to help and when I can't remember details I have local friends that I can get info from who are currently into TDs.
my e-mail is longez8@bellsouth.net and my website is,
http://www.mg-tri-jag.net
I think you will enjoy your MG much more if you take on the project of maintainance yourselves.
Good luck and send me a picture of it so I can put it on my website.
Howard
