Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1965 Chevrolet Malibu 4-door, j c whitney, chevrolet malibu

I have been looking for original or after-market one and one half inch (1 1/2") high body side mouldings, particularly for the two passenger doors. The originals are chrome with a black stripe in the middle. The after-market chrome-plated mouldings, that I have found, are two inches (2") high with a black stripe at the top and a black stripe at the bottom. Am I wasting my time looking for originals? Am I wasting my time looking for 1 1/2" high after-markets? Do you have any suggestions on where I might look for either?

 WELL I WILL TRY TO HELP, AS THIS IS A BIT  OUT OF HI PER. STUFF, FIRST DID YOU LOOK AT THE CATALOG OF J.C. WHITNEY AS THAY HAVE ALL TYPES OF STUFF,THAN TRY TO LOOK UP ON THE WEB, UNDER CUSTOM.CAR BODY PARTS, ETC, BECAUSE IF THAY ARE OUT THERE THAY SHOULD BE ON THE WEB OK. GOOD LUCK
