AnswerIf they are the same block, (and I think they are) the exhaust manifold should interchange as far as fitting the engine. I don't know if the other vehicle would have the same exhaust pipe location as your 170 does, though. I don't have books on trucks, so I have no way to look this up. On my 240, the exhaust dumps down in the middle of the manifold - is the 170 the same?. With Ford, when a part will interchange directly, you should find exactly the same part number on the part - so check that too. If the part number is different, something has been changed, and you need to find out what before you get yourself in trouble.
It happens that I do have a 65 pickup with the 240, though, so if you want me to measure the lenght of the manifold to check if it is even possible to do this, post a follow up question to me and I'll do it for you. By the way, if it won't fit your truck, and you have a line on a replacement 240 manifold that is good, let me know what you need to get for it - mine is cracked and I should replace it.
