Classic/Antique Car Repair: mercury couger 1967 parts, cruise events, car folks

Question
I recently got the above mentioned car in very good shape but due to its age it needs some work done and i need help with resorces for parts manuals and general advice.

Answer
Well, you don't give me much information!   I don't know what sort of parts and work you need, or where you are, so I am really sort of shooting in the dark here.

In general, the best bet for someone starting out with a new "old car" project is to join the local car club and ask people with similar cars (in your case that would be folks with Mustangs and Falcons, which are the same under the skin as your car) where they get their work done.

The way to find the old car folks in your area is to look in your local paper in the automotive section for a listing of "show and shine" or "Cruise" events in your area.  You'll just have to check a few of them out.  Some will be for street rods and custom/modified cars, but some will also be happy to welcome someone with an interest in original cars too.   Our local group has about a 50-50 mixture.  All the people are very friendly and helpful - just talk to the folks and you will be amazed at how much help you get.

Good luck with it.

Dick.
