Dodge Repair: 2001 dodge ram a/c trap door, reputable repair facility, jury rig

My 2001 Dodge Ram a/c goes to heat by itself. The motor keeps turning when in full a/c or heat. it stops in increments inbetween full on settings. I removed the actuator motor and found the plastic coupling was broken. What stops the motor at full on a/c or heat. I can manually move the door to a/c or heat so I know the door is working. Thanks for any help. Ron

The blend air door is broken inside the heater-A/C unit. Once this part has broken there is no reliable way to bypass or jury rig it. The only way to fix it is to remove unit and replace the broken parts. This is not something the average person can do as it entails removing the entire instrument panel and steering column. I'd advise you to bring the truck to a reputable repair facility to get the blend door fixed.
