Dodge Repair: tcm code 0700 ; 0605, chrysler service, verification test

Question
I've had the codes pulled by an independent and was told perhaps the dealer could flash or quick learn the TCM. I took it to the dealer and they confirmed the 0605 code and said the only remedy as per the book is to replace the TCM @ $350. My question : is this the only option? Can the TCM be reprogrammed? If I have to replace the TCM, can one be found for less than $350. thanks. I look forward to your answers.

Symptom:
P0605-INTERNAL TCM
POSSIBLE CAUSES
TCM - INTERNAL ERROR
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair. All
Repair
Replace the TCM. WITH THE DRBIIIt PERFORM QUICK
LEARN AND REPROGRAM PINION FACTOR.
Perform 41TE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.


no software update will correct this issue    this is comparable to a CPU on a home computer crapping out.
