Dodge Repair: Chrysler 2.7 L R Code Engine EGR Valve, sebring conv, gasket surfaces

Question
Kevin,
I installed a rebuilt ECM in my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Conv't 2.7 L engine because a cruise control servo problem had caused it to malfunction.  The VIN shows the car as an "R" code engine. The car (and the cruise control) now runs fine.  But the engine light came on and the only code in the OBD II is P0406, EGR valve position sensor high voltage.  The clode will not clear and I can't turn off the engine light.  I could have sworn this engine did not have an EGR valve.  anyway, to be sure I removed the airbox and throttle cable assembly to view the manifold and the rear right cylinder head area.  I can't locate a pipe or an EGR valve but I can see the bosses where they would be mounted.  Both the dealer and PCM vendor insist I have an EGR valve.  I think I'm losing my mind.  Can you tell me where the valve is?  Your helsp as always is greatly appreciated.  Dave

Answer
REMOVAL - 2.7L
The EGR valve attaches to the rear of the right cylinder head.

Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove air inlet tube and resonator and bracket.
Disconnect electrical connector from solenoid.
Remove EGR upper tube screws at EGR valve.
Remove EGR valve mounting screws.
Remove screws from EGR lower tube at exhaust manifold.
Remove EGR valve and lower tube as an assembly.
Clean gasket surfaces. Discard old gasket. If necessary, clean EGR passages.
