Dodge Repair: 1997 dodge dakota headlamp, marker lamps, inner fender

Question
how do you replace the front head lamps. Not the bulbs but the actual light housing. do you have to completely take the bumper off or is there an easier way?

Answer
HEADLAMP
REMOVAL
Open hood.
Remove the bolts attaching headlamp to the inner fender panel Headlamp
Pull the headlamp from the panel.
Disengage the bulb retaining ring.
Separate bulb from headlamp.
Remove the bulb sockets from the front park/turn signal/side marker lamps
Separate headlamp module from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Do not touch the bulb glass with fingers or other oily surfaces. Reduced bulb life will result.

Install bulb sockets for the front park/turn signal/side marker lamps
Position bulb in headlamp.
Install retaining ring holding bulb to headlamp.
Position headlamp in inner fender panel.
Install the bolts attaching headlamp to the panel.
